Historical Structures
Memişoğlu Mansion
Located in Balıklı, 4 km east of Sürmene district. It is a two-storey, stepped facade, mostly built of stone with wide eaves.
It is famous for its stone and especially woodwork in our region. The door wings and ceilings exhibit the most perfect examples of woodwork.
There is a piece that can rotate around a shaft in the middle of the western room on the upper floor of the building, which is thought to have been built in the 18th century; this serves as a fan and a windmill. Due to this feature of the ceiling, the mansion was called ''Mansion with a rotating ceiling'' among the public.
Nemlizade Mansion
The work located in the Gazipaşa neighborhood is a four-storey brick structure placed on a large area. The mansion consisted of harem and selamlık sections. The most beautiful examples of Kütahya tiles are exhibited in the form of panels on the ground floor and rooms.
CASTLES
Trabzon Castle The castle, which extends from the coast to the hills of the city, is the best preserved work in the region. Its history dates back to the 4th century BC. Its walls are divided into different sections as Yukarı Hisar, İçkale, Orta Hisar and Aşağı Hisar. Kalepark was founded by the Genoese on a point overlooking the harbor in the east of the city. Only the ruins of a warehouse and a church remain today. Akçakale The castle, located 18 km west of Trabzon, dates back to the 13th century and was repaired during the Ottoman period, and was used as a military base with new additions. The structure, located on the western slope of Arsenal Boztepe, consists of 2 interlocking towers. It is understood from the Tughra of Abdulhamid II and the inscription on its door that it was built in 1887. It was used as an ammunition depot during the Russian occupation of 1916-1917, and its dome collapsed in 1919 as a result of an explosion. The building has been restored and is being operated as a restaurant by the private sector.
BATHS
Sekiz Direkli Hamam is located in Pazarkapı Neighborhood and dates back to the 18th century due to its architectural features. It was restored by the Trabzon Municipality. It has changing rooms, cold rooms and hot rooms. Pasha Bath is thought to have been built by Trabzon Governor İskender Pasha between 1521-1533. It is a double bathhouse located south of the Çarşı Mosque. Meydan Bath is a double bathhouse built by the Kazazzades in the late 19th century. The changing room is in its original state.
BRIDGES, FOUNTAINS AND ARCHES
Zağnos Bridge The bridge is between the Ortahisar and Atapark districts. Due to the Roman and Byzantine workmanship seen on its piers, we can date the bridge to the Late Roman and Early Byzantine periods. According to the research, four structural phases have been identified on the bridge. It was repaired in the 15th century with the contributions of Zağnos Pasha and the repairs continued later. Tabakhane Bridge This bridge, which passes through Trabzon and over a small stream, provides transportation between Ortahisar and Atapark. It is located on the same street as the Zağnos Bridge. It has reached its current state with repairs and expansions made in different periods. The first construction of the bridge dates back to the 1st century. Evliya Çelebi claims that it was built during the Karakoyunlu period. It is an Ottoman structure in its current form and took its final shape in the 19th century.
Hapsiyaş Bridge Hapsiyaş Bridge, which was built in 1935 and registered as a “Monumental Work” on 31.10.1996 because there is no other example in the region, and also known as the “Tiled Bridge”, was restored to its original state by the Trabzon Governorship in 2002. Hapsiyaş Bridge is on the Trabzon-Çaykara road. It is a historical monument worth seeing on the way to Uzungöl.
Değirmendere Bridge is a four-eyed bridge built by the Nemlizades in 1891. There is also an evacuation arch on the west side. Abdullah Pasha Fountain is located at the eastern entrance of Zağnos Pasha Tower. The fountain was once located in today's Taksim Square, but was dismantled during road construction and placed in its current location. It was built of marble by Trabzon Governor Haznedarzade Abdullah Pasha in 1844. It is rectangular in shape and was built in the Empire style. Its style, with rosettes of the tree of life, acanthus leaves, and Arabic and Persian inscriptions, is one of the most beautiful examples of fountains in this style. Abdülhamit Fountain was built in İskender Pasha Neighborhood in 1891 in memory of Sultan Abdülhamit. The rectangular fountain, made of cut stone, has the tughra of Sultan Abdülhamit II on it.
The column capitals and bases are decorated with acanthus leaves. İmaret Creek Aqueduct is located in the city center of Trabzon, on the western slope of Trabzon Castle. It was built by Emperor Justinianus (527–565). It later underwent various repairs. The current aqueduct is a 13th-century structure. The arch, which is approximately 30 m long and 7 m high, has five eyes and is made of cut stone. Kuzgundere Aqueduct is a 13th-century structure built on Kuzgundere, located to the east of Trabzon Castle. The arch, which is made of cut and rubble stone, is 8 m long and 6 m high, and is also known as the "İnce Köprü" (Ince Bridge).
Kavaklı Aqueduct is located in Yenicuma Neighborhood and dates back to the 13th century. The structure, which is made of cut and rubble stone, is 20 m long and 7 m high.
ALTERNATIVE TOURISM
Yayla Tourism Araklı-Pazarcık Tourism Center is located on the Karadere route, 43 km south of Araklı. It is a plateau village center where the roads to Gümüşhane via Yağmurdere and to Bayburt via Aydıntepe pass. There are communication and shopping opportunities. Araklı-Yeşilyurt-Yılantaş Tourism Center The plateau, which is 64 km from Trabzon and 33 km from the district center, is connected to Yeşilyurt Town by a 10 km stabilized road. Araklı Tourism Center is 30 km from Trabzon and is one of the centers with significant tourism potential with its geographical and historical location. Trabzon Akçaabat-Karadağ Tourism Center is a plateau that can be reached from Vakfıkebir and Akçaabat-Düzköy roads. The road is of low quality and the plateau takes its name from the 1946 m. Karadağ Hill. There are grocery, coffeehouse, restaurant and bakery services in the plateau center. Trabzon-Tonya-Armutlu Gümüşhane - Kürtün - Erikbeli Tourism Center It is reached by a 25 km road from Tonya and a 34 km road from Şalpazarı. Trabzon-Giresun Sisdağı Tourism Center The plateau, which is 78 km from Trabzon, is 1850 m high. The plateau, which can be reached by the Şalpazarı Geyikli road, has food, beverage, shopping and communication services. Sera Lake It is reached by a 2 km asphalt road from the 7th km of the Trabzon-Akçaabat road to the south. The Sera Lake area has a developed camping and picnic area, and there are food and beverage facilities. 38 Uzungöl Uzungöl has been declared a “Special Environmental Protection Area” and is located 99 km from Trabzon and 19 km from Çaykara district. Balıklı Lake

Maçka - Mavura Plateau
It is located 18.5 km west of Maçka. Its altitude is 1800 m. The dirt road with a forest view of the plateau is ideal for walking. Infrastructure services are available on the plateau, and food and beverage services are also provided in the summer months.
Tonya Kadıralak Plateau
The plateau within the municipality borders is reached by a stabilized road.
Surrounded by spruce forests on all sides, Kadıralak has food and beverage areas that operate in the summer season, and its infrastructure services have been completed.
Maçka-Çakırgöl Plateau
The plateau can be reached after 90 km on the dirt road that turns right at the 5th km of the Maçka - Meryem Ana road.
Armutluk, Kırantaş, Akarsu, Ayraksa, Livayda, Kurugöl,
Mesaraş, Furnoba, Kasapoğlu, Karahava, Camiboğazı, Ortaoba and Deveboynu plateaus are located on the Çakırgöl Plateau road, which is 2504 m high.
Sazalanı Plateau
Sazalanı Plateau, located 5 km west of Erikbeli, is 1700 m high and provides passenger transportation with commercial vehicles. All infrastructure services of the plateau have been completed.
Sisdağı Plateau
You can reach the plateau, which is at an altitude of 1850 m, after 25 km on the Erikbeli Tourism Center road.
There are various infrastructure services here. Transportation can be provided by vehicles departing from Şalpazarı Tepebaş location.
Kadırga Plateau
Kadırga Plateau, which is at an altitude of 2300 m, is served by commercial passenger transportation in the summer. It is possible to reach the plateau from Tonya-Erikbeli,
Kürtün-Erikbeli, Akçaabat-Düzköy and Hakça Obası or from the 20 km stabilized road branching off from Zigana Mountain on the Gümüşhane-Trabzon route in the northwest direction.
Çatma Obası Plateau
Çatma Obası, located 9 km south of Kadırga Plateau, is a small plateau. Nature walks can be done between Erikbeli-Kadırga-Çatma Obası plateaus and
Zigana Ski Center. There are also mythological areas such as Mızraklı Su, Şehitler Tepesi and Çıngıraklı Kuyu.
Sultan Murat Yaylası
Sultan Murat Yaylası, which is 25 km away from Çaykara district of Trabzon province and 54 km northwest of Aydıntepe, is 2000m high and has infrastructure services. Accommodation and communication facilities are available in the yayla.
Hıdırnebi Yaylası
The yayla, which can be reached after a 45-minute journey from Trabzon, is 1600m high. It is possible to come across wild animals in the forest. There are food, beverage and boarding facilities in Kuruçam center.
Akçaabat - Karadağ Yaylası
It can be reached after a 30 km road from Akçaabat-Düzköy road. Its altitude is around 1880 m. There are food, beverage and boarding facilities in the region.
Düzköy (Haçka Obası) Plateau
It is located 12 km south of Düzköy district center, at an altitude of approximately 1800 m. The road is quite smooth. In addition to communication, food and beverage facilities, there are also accommodation opportunities on the plateau. The Haçkalı Baba Tomb located on the plateau
attracts attention from visitors.
Kirazlı Plateau
The plateau, which can be reached by a 7 km dirt road from Gürgenağaç village on the Maçka-Zigana route, is at an altitude of 1850 m. There are grocery stores, butchers, restaurants and telephone facilities in the vicinity.
Lapazan Plateau
It can be reached by a 12 km road from Gürgenağaç village on the Maçka-Zigana route to the southeast. Its altitude is 2200 m and there are accommodation opportunities in the Bekçiler location.
Cave Tourism
Çalköy Cave
The cave is located in Çalköy Town of Düzköy, and after walking 150 m from the entrance, stalactites and stalagmites can be seen. The cave, which has a small stream and waterfall, is open to visitors in summer and winter.
Although it has narrow and wide parts, its real length is not known.
Akarsu Village Cave
The cave is located within the borders of Akarsu Village of Maçka.
Based on the findings found in the cave, it is possible to say that it was used as a settlement. Although a detailed study has not yet been done about the cave, it has many galleries and chambers. Plenty of stalactites and water have been
encountered.

Trabzon Coppersmithing
Handicraft workshops in Trabzon have traditionally continued to make kitchenware and various items from copper, bronze and brass since the past. The fact that Trabzon is a port city has also facilitated the export of these products. Examples of the forms made are; stove cauldrons, copper pots, ewers, jugs, milk bowls, covered anchovy pans, mugs, covered pans, pots and braziers.
Stonework
In addition to architectural ornaments, large millstones, hand mills and “pileki” stones are produced, although in limited quantities.
Hand mills were used to grind wheat and cracked corn, while “pileki” was a round-shaped stone vessel that was used to bake bread with the heat generated by the fire burning on it in old houses.

Although the making of Sürmene knives has become a thing of the past, it is still made by a few old masters upon order. Mostly kitchen knives and tea cutting scissors are produced.
Yarımbıyıkoğlu House
It is located on Kundupoğlu Street in Pazarkapı Neighborhood. It is a 2-storey house with an external sofa plan. It has lost its decorative features due to bad repairs. We learn from its inscription that it was built in 1706.
Kundupoğlu House:
It is located to the south of Yarımbıyıkoğlu House. Only a part of it has survived. It used to have an external sofa plan. The upper room, which has been repaired today, has plaster, wood carving and hand-carved decorations. It dates back to the 18th century.
Çakırağa Mansion
The mansion, located in Sarıağaç village of Hayrat district of Trabzon, was built by İsmailağa in 1237 (1821). The ground floor of the mansion is cut stone, and the winter room, cellar and warehouse are located here. The exact number of rooms on the second floor, which has a wooden Baghdadi coating, is not known. Çakırağa Mansion was restored by the General Directorate of Antiquities and Museums in 1979 and has survived to the present day
